What Operating System Should You speed on Your Netbook?

petite, lightweight, and sporting a long battery life, netbooks are becoming more and more well-liked for their portability and versatility. If you need to surf the web or check e-mail on the go, a netbook might be legal for you.
If you are looking at getting a netbook you might be thinking of what operating system to salvage on that netbook. There are a few choices to earn on the matter. It really comes down to what applications that you are realistically going to need on your netbook. You can either accelerate a Windows operating system or a version of Linux.
If going for Windows most netbooks have been running XP but now have a version of Windows 7 on them. To be fair, these work fair. If you are a Windows user that needs to spend Windows applications, either choice will get sense. On older netbooks like the modern models, both of these will not work to well. On any notice modern netbook, either will work huge. Even the 1 gigabyte models with Windows 7 are snappily and responsive. At this point in time with features being phased out from Windows XP, it might be a honorable plan to exercise Windows 7 for longevity concerns.
If you don't want to utilize Windows there are plenty of Linux flavors to resolve from. Going into all the possible versions would be extensive. There are some pointers that you should be aware of when choosing a netbook Linux operating system. Try to pick up a distribution that sticks with Fluxbox or XFCE. These will spend less resources than Gnome or KDE. It's not that these don't work, but you will have more processing power for applications. Also glimpse for distributions that are specifically made for netbooks. Many have gone in and resized menus to fabricate them perfectly fit on the smaller screens. Luckily on the Linux side, you can try as many of these as you want until you collect something you really like.
